Message Sure, the foundation is supposed to benefit fallen officers and their families. Sure, the donators aren't supposed to take advantage of the benefits that may or may not come with the membership. The bottom line is, the world isn't always a black and white world.

Be it beneficial or not, the organization was set up with a reason -- and behind every reason, there is a purpose. What is that purpose?

I'm sure each of you already know this, but let me reiterate. In government, it is not always about who is right and who is wrong. It is about politics. Sure, traffic tickets generate revenues. Traffic violators hate law enforcement. But between all of this, the only common denominator is the bureaucrats.

When the state approves a higher budget for the CHP, where does the money really go? We still don't get rapid response when we dial 9-1-1. We still don't see a patrol car whenever there are accidents. But sure enough, whenever we drive 5 miles over the posted speed limit, there's a smokey on our tail. So where did the money the budget allowed for go?

Does law enforcement really need a Magnum R/T as a cruiser when all they really do is hang out and wait for the high-speed pursuit to end itself? Does law enforcement really need more traffic enforcement when it is homicides that is climbing?

With this foundation, we (both CHP and donating members) all benefit and bypass altogether the bureaucrats. The budget does not benefit the officers on the job, nor does the revenue they generate by writing citations. With such a program, the hidden benefits such as receiving warnings versus tickets literally benefit both sides.

I don't solely suggest the purpose of abusing traffic laws, but I don't see anything wrong with it either. How can some of you people tear up the Californian government and then turn around and tear up some organization like this?
